George Thomas "Tom" Seaver, nicknamed "Tom Terrific" and "The
Franchise", is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched from
1967-1986 for four different teams in his career, but is noted primarily
for his time with the New York Mets. During a 20-year career, Seaver
compiled 311 wins, 3,640 strikeouts, 61 shutouts and a 2.86 earned run
average. In 1992, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of
Fame by what was the highest percentage ever recorded (98.84%), until Ken Griffey, Jr. was elected in 2016 with 99.3%.
Fingers pitched in Major League Baseball for the Oakland Athletics, San
Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers. Fingers is a three-time World Series
champion, a seven-time MLB All-Star, a four-time Rolaids Relief Man of
the Year, and three-time MLB saves champion. Fingers won the American
League Most Valuable Player Award and Cy Young Award in 1981.
In 1992, he became only the second reliever to be elected to the
National Baseball Hall of Fame. Fingers is also one of only a few MLB
players to have his number retired by more than one club (Oakland
Athletics and Milwaukee Brewers).
This July/August 1992 Legends Sports Memorabilia magazine was signed in blue by Seaver and Fingers. This item includes a Tri-Star hologram as well as an MLB hologram.
