Wieters was drafted fifth overall by the Baltimore Orioles in the
2007 Draft. Wieters played college baseball for Georgia Tech. He is a
tall athletic hitter, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall. His ability to hit
for power from both sides of the plate has drawn comparisons to Jorge
Posada and Jason Varitek. Wieters is a 3-time All Star and 2-time Gold
Glove winner.
