A 19-time All-Star and two-time American League Most Valuable Player,
Ripken is best remembered for breaking Lou Gehrig's record for
consecutive games played, a record that had stood for 56 years and many
deemed unbreakable. Cal was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007.
Nicknamed "The Human Vacuum Cleaner" or "Mr. Hoover", Brooks Robinson is
considered one of the greatest defensive third basemen in major league
history. He won 16 consecutive Gold Glove Awards during his career, tied
with pitcher Jim Kaat for the second most all-time for any player at
any position. Robinson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983.
