On September 6, 1996, Eddie Murray hit his 500th career home run—fittingly, the home run came as a member of the Orioles, and also came exactly one year to the day that Ripken had broken Lou Gehrig's streak of 2,130 consecutive games played. He retired after the 1997 season with 504 home runs; Mickey Mantle is the only switch-hitter who has hit more home runs.
This Cooperstown Bat Company Eddie Murray Hall of Fame bat was limited to just 250 made. It was signed in blue by Murray and inscribed, "HOF 2003." This bat includes a Great Moments photo COA.
*** It should be noted that the sticker on the handle should not read "33 of 250," as they were not numbered individually on the sticker. This bat was actually number 96/250, as indicated on the knob of the bat ***
