Nicknamed "The Human Vacuum Cleaner" or "Mr. Hoover", Brooks Robinson is
considered one of the greatest defensive third basemen in major league
history. He won 16 consecutive Gold Glove Awards during his career, tied
with pitcher Jim Kaat for the second most all-time for any player at
any position. Robinson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983.
Chuck Thompson was a sportscaster best known for his broadcasts of
the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Colts. He was well-recognized
for his resonant voice, crisply descriptive style of play-by-play, and
signature on-air exclamations "Go to war, Miss Agnes!" and "Ain't the
beer cold!" He was awarded the National Baseball Hall of Fame's Ford
Frick Award in 1993.
