Johnny Unitas spent the majority of his career playing for the Baltimore Colts. He was a record-setting quarterback, and the National Football League's most valuable player in 1959, 1964 and 1967. For 52 years he held the record for most consecutive games with a touchdown pass (which he set between 1956–1960), until New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke his long standing record on October 7, 2012. Unitas was the prototype of the modern era marquee quarterback with a strong passing game, media fanfare, and widespread popularity. He has been consistently listed as one of the greatest NFL players of all time.

Kirk Maggio is a Baltimore, MD native who juggled two passions in pursuit of his dreams. One, as an athlete, Kirk played Quarterback in high school, was an All-American Punter at UCLA. was drafted by the Green Bay Packers, and ultimately finished a career as an all world punter with the Birmingham Fire of the World League. Alternately, as an artist, Maggio never put down the brush. His earliest influences came from the fine art program at Calvert Hall College High School and a graphic design and fine arts degree from UCLA.

Offered here is a print of a Johnny Unitas painting by Kirk Maggio titled "The Golden Arm." The print measures 23 1/2" by 18".
