Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened on April 6, 1992 with the Orioles hosting the Cleveland Indians. The great success of Camden Yards which followed sparked a trend in the construction of more traditional, fan-friendly ballparks in downtown locations across the U.S. Indeed, by the 2012 season, all but two teams (the Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics) played in baseball-only parks. The first run scored at Camden Yards occurred when Chris Hoiles hit a ground rule double that brought in Sam Horn. The Orioles went on to win the game 2-0 on Rick Sutcliffe's shutout.

This Rawlings official American League baseball was signed by 28 members of the 1992 Baltimore Orioles. Key signatures include Johnny Oates, Cal Ripken, Sr., Cal Ripken, Jr., Bill Ripken, Brady Anderson, Mike Flanagan, Chris Hoiles, Ben McDonald, Mike Mussina, Gregg Olsen and Greg Biagini.

Some of the signatures on this ball have faded as seen in the attached photos.
